Fernandinho plans to discuss his Brazil future with coaching staff

Manchester City star Fernandinho has confirmed that he would meet up with the coaching staff of the Brazilian national team following the weekend’s Premier League clash against Arsenal. The 33-year-old has not featured for the South American nation since the summer World Cup with manager Tite previously indicating that the midfielder has been hurt by the abuse from the supporters on social media.

In a report covered by Goal.com, Fernandinho acknowledged that he has a good relationship with the coaching staff of the national team and he is scheduled to hold discussions with assistant coach Clever Xavier and performance analyst Fernando Lazaro this weekend before deciding whether to prolong his international career.

Ben Chilwell wants to become all-time great with England

Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell has revealed his ambition to become one of England’s all-time greats after recently making himself a regular with the England national team. The left-sided defender was not part of the squad for the World Cup earlier in the year but he has since managed to earn his maiden cap amid fitness concerns to the likes of Luke Shaw and Danny Rose.

Moreover, he has continued to feature in four more matches for England and this has included key Nations League games which helped the Three Lions progress to the competition finals next summer. Speaking to the Guardian, Chilwell highlighted his lofty ambitions after emerging as the first-choice left-back for the Three Lions during the past three international breaks.

ROONEY TO PLAY FOR ENGLAND ONE LAST TIME

Former England international Wayne Rooney is set to appear for the national side one last time in a friendly game against the United States. The game planned for the 15th later this month would see Rooney earn his 120th cap for England.

The game dubbed ‘The Wayne Rooney Foundation international’ at the Wembley Stadium would see the arch of the stadium in the gold colours of the player’s charity, and seems like a fitting reward for all of Rooney’s hard work for the nation over the years compared to the unceremonial manner in which he left.
