Corentin Martins has been the coach of Mauritian national team from 2014. After the departure from Brest, the first job he got offered was to coach the Mauritian team. He has watched them play and was surprised by their talent and skill. The team has changed a lot from their previous squad. In the initial stage, there were only a few players who played overseas. But now the situation has reversed and the team now consist of many overseas players rather than local players.


Another problem he has to deal with is that the team lacked self-confidence. Martins brought it through a systematic and gradual approach. He made them be more confident and they were able to secure wins in many of the matches which helped in boosting the self-confidence. He has been working six years for the team and had revolutionized the team in a good manner.

Conor Coady satisfied with stalemate against Brighton

Wolves captain Conor Coady has said that the club picked up a fair point following their 0-0 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League. The west Midlands outfit had the chance to enhance their Champions League prospects but they were unable to find their way past the Seagulls, who were solid at the back.


As a result, both teams shared the spoils on the day and speaking after the game, Coady acknowledged that the point was probably fair with neither team managing to threaten the opposition goal regularly, he told: “They’re good in possession. We realised that playing at their place earlier in the year. They’re good on the ball, they move it and block the midfield with a lot of bodies.

Qatar Chief Denies ‘Developing The Game’ Fact

A catchphrase can be heard that FIFA which is the governing body of the world soccer runs out of discussion often regarding holding tournaments outside of South America and Europe that are known as the traditional strongholds of the sport by giving it a heading as developing the game. But Hassan Al Thawadi does not agree to this phrase at all. He is leading the organizing body of Qatar for the 2022 edition of the football World Cup that is going to take place in this Gulf state.


According to him, the concept of developing the game is totally different. The phrase actually understates the penetration of the sport. It is everywhere and in every corner around the globe. Football is for all the people living in this world and Qatar is no exception. People living there also are enthusiastic about football and they want to see more games played there.

Wilfred Ndidi predicts Nigeria can make progress at the 2022 World Cup

Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has said that the Super Eagles will fare better, should they qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The West African nation have never reached the quarter-final stage of the global tournament but Ndidi is optimistic that the current crop of players are capable of achieving the feat.


Speaking in a press conference, Ndidi said that manager Gernot Rohr has focused on the development of young players and the team will try their utmost to progress beyond the round of 16 stage of the World Cup in Qatar, he told:  “With the right mindset and belief in our qualities, and playing together as a team and not just individuals, we can make every game count and get the wins to go as far as possible. We have closed the gap and we are still growing. As we grow, experience comes. We are young, mobile, and we can play good football. Everything comes with time, we are trying our best and we are getting there.”

QATAR TO LAUNCH NEW STADIUM IN DECEMBER

World Cup 2022 hosts Qatar are set to unveil their latest completed world cup venue during the 2019 Club World Cup. According to reports Qatar have scheduled the semifinal involving Liverpool to be held in the Education City Stadium.

The 40,000 capacity stadium is nicknamed Diamond in the Desert and will host the Club World Cup tournament as part of the test running process.
